The Christian life is likened to a race by Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 where we’re encouraged to run to win, to run to obtain the prize that is set before us. In order to run our best, Hebrews 12:1-2 reminds us that we must set aside the weights of this world so that we can run our best and in Galatians 6:9 that we should not grow weary in this race as Christ is with us.
Whether we speak of the race of our church, or our race as individuals, the goal is the same – to see souls saved and God glorified.
How’s your race? Are you struggling to stay in it or are you relying on Christ and obtaining the prize?
